• The Story Goes On

What a nice long and enjoyable break from blogging after Blaugust. It wasn’t really my intention to take an entire month off following that craziness.  It just sort of happened

We’re in the home stretch here folks and i’ve somehow managed to not go completely bonkers. Well to be honest, it’s not really a stretch when there’s only two days

Has it really been six years already since the launch of GW2? I honestly can’t believe it’s been over half a decade since the hype train took off from the

I just realized this morning that i haven’t done a mount post about GW2 yet. Yes they’re fairly new to the game but being as they are the main attraction

My journey to a full ascended light armor set is moving rather smoothly so far. I managed to cap my Tailoring the other day and proceeded to craft myself ascended

    Exclusivity Is Good

Continuing on with the theme of my favorite items from any game ever, i’m once again revisiting FFXI. Lets be honest, old school MMORPG’s were better at meaningful drops that

    Long Way To Go

Temple of the Faceless

Continuing my journey through the signature quest timeline brought me to Temple of the Faceless advanced solo instance.  While i briefly watched a quick video before entering, i obviously didn’t pay any attention to the final boss mechanics!  I enjoyed a few deaths followed by a massive face-palm after i realized what i was doing wrong.  My basic dragon bashing

Kneel Before Me

I figured it was about time i select my deity in EQ2.  Normally this quest is started at level 25 but i put it off until level 90 for some unknown reason.  Out of all the possible options i decided to go with Anashti Sul which seemed to fit my Shadowknight best.  She provides a buff that increases my spell damage

Skyshrine

Upon hitting 92 and having my fill of Withered Lands, i headed up to Skyshrine for the first time.  I began my experience with the zone by getting my butt whooped almost immediately by a three pack of heroic mobs.  After of few hours of the same stubbornness, i gave up trying to solo and headed back inside the safe

Romper Stamper

One of the first things i talked myself into doing once i upgraded my character to a heroic version was to unlock and hire a mercenary.  I decided to go with Stamper Jeralf which should be no shock to anyone I’d imagine.  It seems to be the most popular and used mercenary and with good reason.  He’s a Ratonga Inquisitor

Sword of the Bloodmoon

Shortly after completing my Sedition, a few of us began work on the Epic Repercussions quest chain to upgrade our fabled weapons to the mythical versions.  Little did i know that the quest i just completed to obtain the epic weapon itself can be completely bypasses now before the upgrade.  Something i wish i knew before all the time spent doing

FFXIV Database Exploit

I honestly didn’t know what to say when i heard about this on Friday.  At first i thought it was just a joke or someone screwing around with us.  There’s a thread over on Bluegartr forums discussing the entire issue since all of the official forum posts seem to have been deleted.  It’s sad, depressing, and i can’t say I’m

Gone Fishin’

Ding 90 Shadowknight!  I’m sure most people probably did these 5 levels on their heroic characters in a night or two, but I’ve been taking my time.  Well, maybe not so much going slow as spending way too much time on housing and not enough on anything else.  Either way, it finally happened and what better way than by slaughtering

Prestige House

I love housing.  Since nobody does it better than EQ2, i decided to give myself a little upgrade.  I traded up from the standard 7-room house in Neriak to a Felwithe Mansion prestige house.  What an upgrade indeed.  While my favorite house was the 7 year vet reward house, which obviously wasn’t going to happen, i went with what i

Sedition

My indecision regarding what to do first with my brand new level 85 character only lasted a few days.  The obvious journey would have been to just go and finish the character off to 95.  Where’s the fun in that though?  For some inexplicable reason, i decided to start on my epic weapon quest. Looking over the list of tasks

Heroic Characters

Today’s the day that SoE allowed everyone to start or upgrade one EQ2 character to level 85 for free.  I took advantage of this by upgrading my Shadowknight, which was level 75 at the time.  While it only gave me 10 levels in total, it did provide me with a much needed gear upgrade as well. I think i was

The End of an Era

The king is dead I feel as if a chapter in my life just closed.  Five years is a long time for anything, especially a show like this, but it’s finally over.  I already feel a little empty inside and it’s only been over for a few minutes now.  It’s been my favorite show from the get go and it’s

Lightning Returns

No not that Lightning thankfully.  I’m talking about weather effects of course and those specifically in FFXIV.  They’re simply amazing to look at and really add to the atmosphere, as they should.
